Roles and Responsibilities
- Lead the commercial management of multiple infrastructure projects, ensuring profitability, cost control, and compliance with contractual obligations.
- Oversee procurement strategies, subcontractor selection, and supply chain negotiations to achieve best value and minimise risk.
- Manage contract administration, including NEC/JCT contracts, ensuring timely submission of applications, variations, and claims.
- Provide commercial input during tendering, including pricing strategies, risk assessments, and bid reviews.
- Monitor project financial performance, including forecasting, cost/value reconciliation, and margin improvement initiatives.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate commercial risks across Civils, Light Rail, and Highways projects.
- Lead and mentor quantity surveyors and commercial staff, promoting best practices and professional development.
- Develop and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships to support repeat business and framework opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with company governance, industry regulations, and relevant standards within infrastructure sectors.
- Support dispute resolution processes, including negotiations, adjudications, and claims management where required.
Requirements
- BSc in Quantity Surveying or similar commercial related course.
- Experience working within Rail, Light Rail or Highways would be ideal.
- Civils knowledge across; S278, RC Works, Drainage, Fencing and Retaining Structures.
- Solid understanding of both JCT and NEC4.
- Professional membership of appropriate body.
- Leadership experience with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Precontract and tender knowledge.
- Excellent legal/contractual knowledge.
- Valid driving licence.
