Tradewind are currently recruiting for a committed and engaging Year 1 Teacher to join a highly regarded and welcoming primary school in South Manchester on a full‑time basis from the end of May. You will take full responsibility for a Year 1 class through to the end of the academic year. This is a full‑time role, paid in line with MPS1-MPS6.
The school is known for its strong sense of community, high expectations, and focus on delivering a rich and engaging curriculum. There is a particular emphasis on early reading, phonics, and developing confident, independent learners within a nurturing and supportive environment. The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience teaching within KS1, with a secure understanding of the Primary National Curriculum
- Confidence in delivering high‑quality phonics sessions (experience with schemes such as Read Write Inc. or Little Wandle is desirable)
- A nurturing and inclusive approach, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families
- Experience delivering engaging and differentiated lessons across core subjects
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a calm, purposeful learning environment
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive, team‑focused attitude
Essential requirements:
- QTS (or an equivalent teaching qualification)
- Recent experience teaching in KS1, supported by strong references
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Right to work in the UK
