Starting salary of 30,500 rising to 32,500 after 6 months + Bonus + Excellent Benefits

Our client, a world-renowned manufacturer, is looking to recruit an experienced Team Leader with powder coating experience to join their growing production team in Witham. This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly respected engineering and manufacturing business producing construction products supplied to prestigious projects across the globe.

Duties:

  • Lead, supervise and motivate a team of powder coating operatives
  • Plan and organise daily workloads to ensure smooth production flow
  • Oversee powder coating operations including pre-treatment, application, curing and inspection
  • Ensure all finished products meet strict quality standards (colour, finish, thickness, adhesion)
  • Monitor powder usage, equipment settings and process parameters
  • Work closely with engineering and maintenance teams to minimise downtime
  • Ensure full compliance with ISO 9001, COSHH and Health & Safety regulations
  • Promote safe working practices and correct PPE usage at all times
  • Investigate quality issues and support root cause analysis
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives (Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen), reduce waste, rework and improve production efficiency

Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in powder coating, paint line, or surface finishing environments is essential
  • Must have previous supervisory/team leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
  • A strong understanding of powder coating processes and finishing standards is essential
  • Must have the ability to read job cards, technical specifications and colour data sheets
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing / Continuous Improvement tools is required along with strong communication, leadership and organisational skills
  • Must have the ability to motivate and develop a production team
  • Automated powder coating systems or robotics experience would be an advantage
  • Chemical pre-treatment processes (phosphate / conversion coating) would be desirable
  • Lean, 5S or Six Sigma training would be preferred
  • Health & Safety or First Aid qualifications an asset
