Key Details
- Role: Local Housing Manager - Retirement Living
- Location: Scott Evans Court, Lowndes Way, Winslow, Bucks, MK18 3EP
- Pay rate: £18.40 per hour (PAYE) Umbrella rate is available
- Contract: Temporary (sickness cover) until end of July, potential extension
- Hours: Between 8-6, Open to part-time candidates (minimum 3 days per week)
- Travel: May be required to cover nearby schemes - full UK driving licence and access to a car essential
The Role
The Role is a varied, customer-facing position at the heart of a retirement living scheme, supporting older residents to live independently while ensuring the building is safe, compliant, and well managed.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing tenancy sustainment, rent accounts, arrears prevention and voids
- Overseeing property compliance, health & safety checks, and repairs
- Procuring and managing contractors (cleaning, gardening, maintenance)
- Responding to ASB, complaints and safeguarding concerns
- Engaging residents, facilitating activities and reducing social isolation
- Liaising with families, local agencies, and the wider community
- Supporting wellbeing, welfare benefit queries and resident income maximisation
What They're Looking For
- Experience within social housing, ideally working with older people or vulnerable residents
- Strong knowledge of housing management, tenancy sustainment, and resident support
- Confidence managing compliance, contractors, and day-to-day scheme operations
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Comfortable using housing systems and maintaining GDPR-compliant records
