As Assistant Ranger you will deliver an agreed programme of practical, interpretive, ecological and administrative works to provide high‑quality management of the park, balancing the needs of recreation and conservation.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out practical maintenance including frequent site patrols, litter picking, site maintenance, woodland management and the management of site infrastructure.
- Execute habitat management – mainly woodland focused and eradication of invasive species – as outlined by our management plan.
- Support day‑to‑day works during peak summer months such as cleaning BBQs, normal groundworks and habitat management.
- Maintain regular contact with volunteers, stakeholders and other Countryside Service teams.
- Complete essential administrative tasks to ensure smooth business operations and excellent visitor experiences.
- Work weekends and possess a current, clean driving licence.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience in a similar role and working with the public.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office programmes.
- Knowledge of the local natural landscape and environment is an advantage.
- Enthusiastic, flexible, able to work indoors or outdoors, in a team or autonomously, and satisfy the physical requirements of the role.
