Position: Toolmaker

Location: West Bromwich

Salary: £32,000 - £34,500

Hours: 7.30am - 4.30pm Monday to Thursday; 7.30am to 12.30pm on Friday

Bennett and Game are currently partnering with a specialist Metal pressing and fabrication company who are actively seeking a proven Toolmaker to join their West Bromwich location. Our client has over 70 years heritage and is currently expanding in various areas of their business due to continued contract wins, continued investment into their staff, facilities and specialist machines.

Toolmaker Position Overview

  • To repair and maintain press tools and welding jigs and fixtures and assisting in solving production problems in the press shop.
  • To repair and carry out preventative maintenance on press tools of various sizes and support production in achieving the daily goals.
  • Comply to the Companies Health and Safety procedures and report any Health and Safety issues to the Toolroom Team Leader.
  • To oversee any tool / jig modifications when required.

Toolmaker Position Requirements

  • To be able to use manual toolroom equipment i.e. Surface Grinders, Lathe, Millers etc.
  • To be able to repair and maintain press tools from 45-ton to 400-ton single operation and progression tools.
  • Good timekeeper, as the role is fundamental to the efficient operation of the department.
  • To be able to trouble shoot and problem solve on tools that are in press.

Toolmaker Position Package

  • £32,000 - £34,500 annual salary (weekly pay)
  • 7.30am - 4.30pm Monday to Thursday & 7.30am to 12.30pm on Friday
  • Company pension scheme
