Recruit4staff are proud to be representing their client, a leading food manufacturing company in their search for a Machine Operator to work in their leading facility in Telford.

What the client is offering:

  • Starting salary of £33,733 which rises as experience/competence are signed off – if you can run all processes it can rise to £43,487 (usually takes around 12 months but can be achieved sooner).
  • 4 on 4 off, 12 hour shifts rotating days and nights, 07:25 – 19:35 / 19:35 – 07:25.
  • Permanent role.

Responsibilities:

  • Stay hands-on with the machinery spotting potential faults, investigating issues and problem solving to prevent downtime.
  • Ensure 100% compliance with Food Safety, Quality, and Health & Safety standards.
  • Run the line to standard operating procedures, which include start-up and changeovers.
  • Lead a line with machine operators, training and driving performance.
  • Liaise with development teams for improvements on standards to drive continuous improvement, supporting refining processes to boost productivity.
  • Take ownership of the production line's performance, ensuring it runs efficiently and is in complete control.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • An individual with a strong technical mindset, who enjoys working with, setting and operating machinery – ESSENTIAL.
  • First line machine maintenance experience – ESSENTIAL.
  • Technically competent to solve problems, taking action to ensure delivery, gaining support to ensure delivery.
  • Experience with changeovers / basic machine maintenance – ESSENTIAL.
  • Someone excited by learning new techniques & technology, with a drive for continuous improvements and lean manufacturing.
  • An effective communicator who listens and gives clear instructions, someone who isn’t afraid of challenge, gaining support from experts when needed.
  • Ideally experienced within the food or processing industry although not essential.
  • Must be happy/available to attend a numerical and verbal reasoning test – ESSENTIAL.
