IMH Recruitment are currently seeking reliable Waste Collection Operatives to work for our client in Barnsley to start ASAP. You will be working for the Commercial Services dealing with the collection of household waste on the bulky collection scheme.

Key Duties:

  • Assisting with daily household waste collections
  • Operating mechanical bin lifting equipment
  • Working outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Carrying out physically demanding tasks safely
  • Supporting the driver and supervisor to meet daily schedules
  • Being polite and customer-focused when dealing with members of the public
  • Following Health & Safety procedures at all times
  • Using basic ICT systems to complete electronic records where required

Essential Requirements:

  • Able to get employment references to cover 3 years employment history before your start date.
  • Driving licence is preferred or must live local to depot.
  • Experience working individually or as part of a team
  • Experience in waste management or a similar operational environment
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety in the workplace
  • Good communication skills and a positive attitude to work
  • Ability to follow verbal, written, and electronic instructions

Additional Information:

  • This is a safety-critical role and is subject to Drug & Alcohol Testing
  • Willingness to undertake training and work flexibly as required
  • Must be reliable and committed to delivering a quality service

Desirable (but not essential):

  • Manual Handling training
  • Needle Stick training
  • IOSH Working Safely
  • Full UK driving licence (Category B+E)

Hours:

  • Normally Tuesday to Friday
  • 6am - 15:45pm
  • £13.26 per hour
  • Weekly pay whilst through the agency!
