Our client, an established defence manufacturing firm, require an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join their multi-disciplined team in Washington, Tyne & Wear. As a Maintenance Supervisor you will be supervising and line managing a team of multi-skilled maintenance staff carrying out maintenance activities on our Washington site. You'll lead a team delivering high quality maintenance activities, ensuring workmanship, safety and reporting standards are consistently met.

What the role of the Maintenance Supervisor entails:

  • Overseeing the procurement of parts and materials, contribute to daily production meetings and create or review maintenance instructions and risk assessments.
  • This role includes full people management responsibilities supporting your team to perform at their best.
  • Managing teams to carry out maintenance activities, checking standards of maintenance and reactive work while coaching team members as required to deliver high levels of craftsmanship and job reporting.
  • Coordinating the department workload via SAP to ensure KPIs are achieved.
  • Managing failure data on equipment and generating breakdown reports.
  • Procure spare parts and materials that are required for work orders.
  • Attending daily production meetings.
  • Writing and reviewing maintenance instructions and risk assessments.

What experience you need to be the successful Maintenance Supervisor:

  • Time served Electrical or Mechanical apprenticeship, preferably with HNC/HND qualification.
  • Experience managing/supervising teams preferable within a manufacturing environment.
  • Safety Qualifications (e.g. IOSH, or willing to work towards IOSH qualification).
  • Large manufacturing environment experience.
  • Experience in computer management systems.

Candidates would need to hold British nationality and have lived & worked in the UK for 5+ years and be eligible for SC security clearance.
