Insight Employment are seeking an experienced Warehouse Manager for a client of ours in Banbury for an IMMEDIATE START. The Warehouse Manager is a critical leadership role responsible for the day‑to‑day workflow, efficiency, and safety of large‑scale food distribution and production facilities, often across a six‑day working week.

Core Responsibilities

  • Facility Management: Oversee daily business operations at depots or factory sites to ensure smooth workflow across all departments.
  • Performance & Strategy: Develop and monitor performance metrics (KPIs), implementing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Compliance & Safety: Maintain high standards for Health & Safety (H&S), food hygiene, and industry regulations within a multi‑temperature, chilled warehouse environment.
  • Financial Oversight: Manage operational budgets, forecasts, and cost‑control measures to drive profitability.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse workforce (often managing a team of 40+ staff via direct reports like Warehouse Managers).
  • Cross‑Functional Coordination: Align site operations with wider company objectives by collaborating with senior management and other UK locations.

Skills & Requirements

  • Sector Experience: Proven leadership in Logistics, Distribution, or Supply Chain, specifically within a Fast‑Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) or food production environment.
  • Technical Knowledge: Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ERP tools, and the handling of perishable products (meat, poultry, and game).
  • Soft Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with staff on the factory floor and present reports to senior management.
  • Regulatory Awareness: Expert knowledge of H&S and food safety protocols (e.g., Level 2 Food Hygiene is often desirable for junior/related roles).
