The Visa Compliance and Admissions Specialist is a key role within the Admissions & Immigration Compliance team.

Reports to: Head of Admissions and Immigration Compliance

Salary: Up to £48,000 per annum, depending on experience

Hours: Full Time

Contract: Permanent

Location: Central London (Hybrid Working)

About Us: ASU London is an independent, UK-accredited provider of higher education, drawing on curriculum from Arizona State University.

About The Role: The role will involve issuing CAS to incoming students, alongside due diligence, supporting the Head of Admissions and immigration compliance, ensuring student lifecycle compliance by UKVI standards, and processing applications from initial to offer-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Issuing CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies) and undertaking the necessary checks prior to issuance
  • Assisting with attendance monitoring and other compliance-based tasks for current students
  • Working with the Head of Admissions and Immigration Compliance on audit readiness
  • Providing guidance to colleagues on matters relating to UKVI
  • Handling admissions enquiries from prospective students, applicants and external parties via telephone, email, UCAS, applicant portal and Enrolment Advisers
  • Processing applications to assess suitability for study at ASU London, from initial screening to offer-making with fairness and consistency
  • Liaising with faculty staff regarding borderline or extenuating circumstances that require an academic decision
  • Providing general guidance on admissions process, entry requirements, fee status, academic qualifications and right to study
  • Working closely with Enrolment Advisors to ensure alignment and gathering any necessary documentation
  • Ensuring admission records are complete and accurate, entering student data onto EBS and generating reports as required
  • Supporting and presenting at open days, online events, enrolment, graduation and similar events
  • Representing ASU London at external events when required
  • Taking a supervisory role during the Confirmation and Clearing period
  • Assisting in the administration and awarding of scholarships

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Experience working in Higher Education admissions and with UCAS from an institutional perspective
  • Understanding of the UK education system and qualifications frameworks
  • Solid knowledge of international qualifications and education systems, including the USA
  • Knowledge of UKVI requirements and regulations relating to the admission of sponsored and non-sponsored students
  • Experience with UKVI’s SMS, ideally as a Level 2 user
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering continuous improvements
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines with changing priorities
  • Ability to develop collaborative relationships within the team and across ASU London
  • Proficiency in MS Office and aptitude to learn digital products
  • Excellent communication skills and flexibility
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience

Desirable skills:

  • Use of Enroly CAS Shield and EBS (Tribal)
  • Experience working with Foundation providers and overseas agents from an admissions perspective

This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. In addition, a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is required. No agencies please.
