ASL Technical Ltd is recruiting for a Vehicle Development Engineer to join a leading high-performance automotive engineering and development programme. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of vehicle development, supporting prototype build, validation, testing and development activities across cutting-edge performance vehicle programmes. The successful candidate will play a key role within the test and development team, taking ownership of vehicle preparation, test execution, data analysis and reporting. The role offers the opportunity to work with advanced automotive technologies in a fast-paced and highly collaborative engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Specify, prepare, monitor, analyse and report on vehicle build, test, development and validation activities.
  • Work closely with prototype build and development teams to ensure vehicles are prepared to the required standards for planned testing.
  • Develop and manage short-term test plans, including coordination of resources and spares.
  • Ensure all development activities follow defined engineering standards and documented processes.
  • Support testing activities at off-site facilities, including occasional out-of-hours work and travel where required.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Degree qualified in Mechanical, Electrical/Electronic or Automotive Engineering (2:1 or above).
  • Experience within an automotive test and development environment.
  • Knowledge of DVP execution and FMEA processes.
  • Experience with hybrid and electric drive systems would be advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle development and engineering problem-solving.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Microsoft Project.
