About the Role
A well-established specialist vehicle manufacturer is seeking a Design Manager to join its growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on bespoke coachbuilt vehicle projects, taking designs from concept through to manufacture. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing high-quality vehicle solutions using SolidWorks, while collaborating closely with customers, engineers, and fabrication teams to deliver innovative and practical designs.
Key Responsibilities
- Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and technical drawings using SolidWorks
- Manage design projects from concept to completion
- Work closely with customers to understand requirements and develop tailored solutions
- Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure successful project delivery
- Resolve technical and design challenges while maintaining manufacturing feasibility
- Ensure designs meet customer specifications, quality standards, and project deadlines
- Support continuous improvement across design and production processes
Requirements
- Strong SolidWorks experience
- Technical design and engineering knowledge, ideally within vehicle design or coachbuilding
- Ability to manage projects independently
- Excellent communication and customer-facing skills
- Collaborative and proactive approach to teamwork
- Experience within automotive, specialist vehicles, coachbuilding, or a related industry would be advantageous
