I am working with a growing and well-established transport and logistics organisation who are seeking an experienced Fleet Manager to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a fleet professional to take ownership of fleet performance, maintenance strategy, supplier management, and operational cost control across a multi-site operation. The role offers significant autonomy and the opportunity to influence fleet planning, supplier performance, and long-term operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing all aspects of fleet maintenance and compliance, ensuring vehicles and trailers are maintained to the highest operational and safety standards while remaining fully compliant with Operator's Licence requirements and DVSA regulations.
- Overseeing servicing schedules, inspections, MOT preparation, defect management, breakdown response, and vehicle downtime, ensuring the fleet remains efficient and operational at all times.
- Driving commercial performance across the fleet function, including negotiating and managing supplier agreements for maintenance, tyres, parts, and breakdown services.
- Implementing effective purchasing and stock control processes to improve visibility and reduce costs.
- Overseeing accurate asset allocation across multiple depots to support operational efficiency and financial reporting.
- Maintaining all maintenance records and compliance documentation to a high standard and ensuring they remain audit-ready.
The Candidate
- An experienced Fleet Manager (HGV) with strong related compliance awareness and knowledge of road transport regulations.
- Transport Manager CPC would be advantageous.
- A confident communicator with the ability to coordinate internal and external teams.
- Flexibility for UK wide travel is required.
