Transport Planner AFTERNOON SHIFT £28,000 - £32,000 Immediate Start. Monday to Friday 10AM to 7PM (40 hours plus 30 minutes break unpaid daily).

As a Transport Planner, you will be responsible for planning and routing collection and delivery fleet, ensuring operations run smoothly, efficiently, and on time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and route daily collection and delivery work using the in-house transport management system (TMS)
  • Ensure all service levels are met, including timed, premium and economy deliveries
  • Manage vehicle and driver resources in line with daily volumes, using agency support where required
  • Produce pick sheets, manifests and consignment notes to support warehouse and driver teams
  • Balance cost, service, and legal compliance when building routes
  • Look for opportunities to improve efficiency, such as bulk drops and direct runs
  • Work closely with transport and warehouse teams to improve productivity
  • Carry out other related tasks as required by management
What We’re Looking For
  • Experience using transport planning and routing software (essential)
  • Good knowledge of the Birmingham postcode area
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work calmly under pressure
  • A proactive, organised approach with good problem-solving skills
  • Confident using Microsoft Outlook and Excel
