ROLE: Trade Counter Assistant / Driver
HOURS: 44 per week – Permanent, Monday to Friday 7:00–16:30, 8:00–12:00 on Saturdays (rota)
SALARY: £29,080.48 basic salary per year
BONUS/OTE: £32,680.48 per year total earning potential

Responsibilities
- Hands‑on, lead by example, work closely with Branch Manager and Supervisor in day‑to‑day operations
- Drive trade counter sales, achieve sales targets, communicate product knowledge to customers
- Provide exceptional customer service and support to new and existing customers
- Picking, loading, and delivering products via company 3.5‑tonne flatbed trucks and LWB vans
- Route planning, safe driving, keeping the company vehicle clean
- Support Branch Manager with activities, on time and in full
- Ensure compliance with health and safety, company policies and procedures
- Maintain excellence in customer service, operational standards and branch sales targets
- Build and maintain positive customer relationships while driving sales
- Assist with delivery of branch operations
- Provide support to branch colleagues as required
- Maintain branch standards – warehouse and stock management, front‑office cleanliness, POS
Qualifications and Requirements
- Passion and energy to deliver exceptional customer service and achieve targets
- Hands‑on, customer‑focused, confident and proactive engagement
- Commercial mindset to drive sales and maximise margins, while ensuring satisfaction
- Good organisational skills, ability to prioritise and take initiative
- Confident IT user, experience of MS Office and industry‑standard software such as SAP
- Full and valid driving licence essential; FLT licence advantage
- Previous branch stock‑take experience advantage
- Comfortable working in a small team and occasionally alone
- Experience in trade/builders merchant/retail, glazing or uPVC environment advantage
