An exciting opportunity has arisen for a hands-on Maintenance Manager to join a growing and forward-thinking manufacturing business based in Oldbury. Operating at the cutting edge of manual and robotic wet paint applications, this company supports a diverse client base across sectors including automotive, defence, medical, and consumer goods. Due to continued growth and internal restructuring, the business is strengthening its engineering function and is looking for a driven leader to take ownership of maintenance operations across two sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all planned and reactive maintenance activities
- Own and develop the Preventative Maintenance (PM) schedule
- Deliver and oversee engineering projects from concept through to completion
- Provide regular reports on monthly engineering performance and objectives
- Drive improvements in equipment performance and overall site efficiency
- Ensure Health & Safety standards are consistently met and maintained
- Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders across the business
Engineering Expertise
- Strong mechanical and electrical maintenance background
- Ability to confidently read and interpret technical drawings
- Experience in fault finding on pumps, motors, and related systems
- Knowledge of pneumatics and fluid logic systems
- Background in automotive or paint processes (highly desirable)
- Experience with ABB robotics (advantageous but not essential)
Leadership & Management
- Proven ability to manage projects and drive improvements
- Experience managing or using Excel-based PM systems
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
- Calm under pressure with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset
- Committed to maintaining a safe and compliant working environment
Additional Requirements
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Flexible approach, including supporting across two sites when required
- Occasional overtime and call-outs
- Providing holiday/shift cover when needed
