Reporting to: NPD Manager

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm

About the Role

I am working with a business who are looking for a passionate and driven Product Development Technologist to join the NPD team. This is an exciting opportunity to support both new and existing product development projects. This role is ideal for someone with prior experience in product development or a recent graduate eager to begin their career in the food industry. We are looking for a true foodie with creativity, enthusiasm, and a collaborative mindset.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the NPD Manager across all new and existing product development projects
  • Assist in recipe development using recipe sheets and raw materials, producing samples for customers
  • Conduct taste panel trials for both new and existing products
  • Liaise with suppliers to source new raw materials, manage costings, and maintain accurate ingredient specifications
  • Prepare and deliver customer samples on time, including all supporting documentation and preliminary specifications
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives
  • Ensure compliance with BRC and HACCP standards during all NPD activities
  • Organise and participate in factory trials, supporting timely and efficient product launches
  • Communicate trial outcomes and next steps (e.g. product, packaging, or process changes) to relevant stakeholders
  • Accurately complete all NPD documentation, including trial reports, sensory evaluations, shelf-life reviews, and recipe mix sheets

Key Skills & Experience

  • A qualification in a Food-related subject (College or University level)
  • A passion for food innovation with a natural creative flair
  • Strong interest in new ingredients and food trends
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Kitchen or food production experience is desirable
  • Full UK Driving Licence
