Many of the pupils we support benefit from structured, consistent 1:1 tuition outside of mainstream classroom settings.

Most students receive approximately 10 hours of tuition per week, typically delivered as 2 hours per day across five days. We are particularly keen to hear from:

  • Tutors looking to support multiple students to build consistent weekly hours
  • Tutors seeking flexible or part-time work that can fit around other commitments

Tuition may take place in schools, alternative provisions, community settings, or the learner's home (where appropriate), depending on individual needs. The role offers flexibility and can be tailored around your subject specialism, availability, and experience.

The Role

As a Face-to-Face Tutor, you will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging sessions tailored to individual learning needs
  • Support pupils with SEN, SEMH needs, or gaps in education
  • Build positive, professional relationships to improve confidence and engagement
  • Monitor progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly
  • Work independently while liaising with schools, local authorities, and support teams where required

The Ideal Tutor Will

  • Have experience teaching or tutoring in KS2, KS3 or KS4
  • Be confident delivering at least one core subject (English, Maths, or Science)
  • Demonstrate patience, adaptability, and a calm approach
  • Have strong communication and behaviour management skills
  • Hold QTS, QTLS, PGCE, or relevant tutoring/teaching experience (desirable but not essential)
  • Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one
  • Have the legal right to work in the UK

Pay

£20 per hour, depending on experience and subject specialism

Why Work with Tradewind Recruitment?

  • Flexible tutoring opportunities to build hours around your availability
  • Opportunities to support multiple learners for consistent weekly income
  • Competitive hourly rates
  • Access to free CPD and safeguarding training via The National College
  • Ongoing support from a dedicated consultant
  • The chance to make a genuine impact in your local community
