The Role
The successful candidate will play a key role in the delivery of a variety of planning projects, working closely with clients, consultants, and local authorities throughout the planning process. Responsibilities will include:
- Managing a diverse caseload of planning applications and appeals
- Undertaking site appraisals and planning assessments
- Preparing planning statements, appeals, and supporting reports
- Providing strategic planning advice to clients across a range of sectors
- Managing relationships with clients, stakeholders, and local planning authorities
- Supporting business development and networking activities
- Assisting junior team members and contributing to collaborative project delivery
- Monitoring planning policy and legislative changes
Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidate will:
- Hold MRTPI Chartered status
- Have experience within a planning consultancy, local authority, or development environment
- Demonstrate strong technical knowledge of the UK planning system
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Be commercially aware and client focused
- Have strong project management and organisational abilities
- Be confident managing projects independently and within a team
- Demonstrate strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Hold a full UK driving licence
