The Role

The successful candidate will play a key role in the delivery of a variety of planning projects, working closely with clients, consultants, and local authorities throughout the planning process. Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a diverse caseload of planning applications and appeals
  • Undertaking site appraisals and planning assessments
  • Preparing planning statements, appeals, and supporting reports
  • Providing strategic planning advice to clients across a range of sectors
  • Managing relationships with clients, stakeholders, and local planning authorities
  • Supporting business development and networking activities
  • Assisting junior team members and contributing to collaborative project delivery
  • Monitoring planning policy and legislative changes

Candidate Requirements

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold MRTPI Chartered status
  • Have experience within a planning consultancy, local authority, or development environment
  • Demonstrate strong technical knowledge of the UK planning system
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Be commercially aware and client focused
  • Have strong project management and organisational abilities
  • Be confident managing projects independently and within a team
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Hold a full UK driving licence
