Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of children and families subject to Child Protection, Child in Need, and care proceedings
  • Complete high-quality assessments, reports, and plans in line with statutory responsibilities
  • Build strong, effective relationships with children, families, and partner agencies
  • Undertake direct work with children to ensure their voices remain central to planning
  • Participate in strategy discussions, core groups, child protection conferences, and court work where required
  • Contribute to a positive team culture focused on restorative and relationship-based practice
  • Support and mentor less experienced staff where appropriate (Senior Social Worker level)

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified Social Worker with a recognised Social Work qualification
  • Registered with Social Work England
  • Experience within Children’s Safeguarding/Family Safeguarding services
  • Strong assessment, risk management, and court work experience
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Full UK driving licence preferred
