Our client, a leading independent automotive dealer group established in 1999, is seeking a skilled Vehicle Prep/PDI Technician to join their reputable multi‑franchise dealership in Swindon. Duties of a PDI Technician:

  • Carry out vehicle and equipment preparation ensuring compliance with company standards
  • Conduct basic mechanical inspections, identifying defects or damage
  • Prepare vehicles for MOT testing, servicing, inspections, and customer handovers
  • Perform pre‑delivery inspections (PDIs) accurately and efficiently
  • Remove and refit vehicle components as required
  • Assist workshop colleagues with general preparation and support tasks
  • Maintain high standards of work quality within a busy franchise‑approved dealership setting
  • Contribute to the achievement of team targets and customer satisfaction goals

Requirements of a PDI Technician:

  • Minimum of IMI/NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent qualification
  • A valid UK driving licence with minimal points
  • Proven experience working as a Vehicle Prep/PDI Technician or similar role within a dealership environment
  • Ability to produce high‑quality work under time constraints
