We're currently seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our production team on a days-based shift pattern. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in ensuring equipment reliability, improving plant performance, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on a wide range of mechanical equipment
  • Respond to and resolve breakdowns efficiently, minimising downtime
  • Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on mechanical systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, and rotating equipment
  • Support continuous improvement activities to enhance machine reliability and performance
  • Work closely with production teams to ensure smooth operations
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records using CMMS systems
  • Contribute to a strong health & safety culture, ensuring all work is carried out safely and in compliance with regulations

About You

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer within a manufacturing, production, or industrial environment - ex-forces encouraged to apply
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems such as gearboxes, pumps, bearings, conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics and generators
  • Experience working with PPM systems and maintenance planning tools
  • Relevant engineering qualification (e.g. HNC, NVQ, Apprenticeship or equivalent)
  • A proactive, hands‑on approach with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
