We are currently recruiting for a Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join a thriving school within the Stafford area. Your role will predominantly be working under the direct instruction of teaching staff, usually within the classroom alongside the teacher. This is a long-term role working on a temporary basis through a trusted, established supply agency.

We are looking for an individual who has a nurturing, proactive attitude and is genuinely passionate about supporting children on a day-to-day basis within the classroom. You must be organised, reliable and hardworking; committed to consistently raising standards by ensuring high expectations are promoted for all pupils.

The role includes:

  • Providing support to children & staff on a daily basis across the whole school.
  • Collaborating and working alongside the class teacher; occasionally covering some classes when necessary.
  • Supporting those children in the classroom who may require more individualised support; liaising with the teacher to create a tailored plan for how you will support the pupil.
  • Comfortable communicating with staff, parents and external professionals in a professional manner at all times.
  • Providing SEND support as required for individual pupils, including those with an EHCP.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Can support a whole class across a range of Key Stages.
  • Holds a Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification.
  • Confidently able to implement learning activities, adapt resources and provide valuable support to every child during lesson time.
  • Happy and confident to lead classes when needed, delivering pre-planned work.
  • Monitors progress; liaising with teachers, parents, SENDCo and external agencies.
  • May be required to run small group interventions such as guided reading, phonics etc.
  • Responsibilities may also include providing 1:1 support where needed.
  • Able to foster and maintain a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment.
  • Available to start ASAP.
  • Fully registered to work for Academics.
  • Holds or is willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS on the update service.
  • Willing to commute to a Stafford school daily.

Pay is £93 - £100 a day, holiday pay is included in the day rate. Academics is committed to safe recruitment practices, as well as safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of children and young people. All applicants are expected to uphold this commitment. Placements are subject to safeguarding and child protection checks in accordance with DfE policies, including verification of the right to work, employment references, and an enhanced DBS check.
