We have an exciting role for a well-established and friendly manufacturing site in the St Helens area. This is a day shift role with an early finish on a Friday. Stores Person FLT licence is essential.
Location: St Helens
Working Hours: 37.5 Hours per week. Mon – Thurs 7am to 3.30pm, Fri 7am to 12.30pm
Job Brief / Responsibilities:
- Reporting to the Stores Team Leader: The Stores Person position is a key role designed to ensure optimal flow of workload into the factory by kitting assemblies in good time, managing sub-contract shipments, ensuring materials are stored in the specified locations both inside and outside, and conducting regular inventory checks.
- The Stores Person is also responsible for liaising with all key stakeholders to ensure that the overall plan is aligned.
- The successful candidate will be well-versed in stores processes and procedures, whilst demonstrating a results-driven tenacious attitude with great problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure the kitting of BOMs is undertaken to the Stores Team Leader's request, and that all shortages are identified with any resolutions made as swiftly as possible.
- Ensure flow of manufacturing materials into each assembly line in a timely manner.
- Count inbound sub-contract and purchased item shipments, book into stock and ensure that quantities are accurate and locate accordingly.
- Manage the general tidiness and location of kits/parts in the main yard.
- Work with the Materials Management team to ensure that all materials are stored in a precise location.
- Drive cleanliness standards within your department.
- Conduct regular inventory checks within the stores area in line with company requirements.
- Positive and informative interaction with key stakeholders at all times.
- Liaise with the Stores Team Leader, Purchasing and internal manufacturing teams to mitigate potential shortages before they impact the assembly plan.
Qualifications & Skills (Desired but not strictly necessary):
- Proven experience as a Stores Person
- Knowledge of stores receipt processes, inventory and quality control principles
- Working knowledge of MS Office, Outlook and ERP systems
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in Excel, with excellent numeracy skills
- FLT licence
- Excellent communication abilities & time management skills
