This is a superb opportunity for an experienced engineering leader who wants to make a real impact, shape the culture, processes, and future of a growing software team. It’s a rare chance to join a company building robotics and automation systems, right at the point where they’re scaling fast and need someone to help them do it properly.

The Role

You will be the person who makes the engineering organisation tick. Working closely with technical leads and company leadership, you will own the operational side of a multi-site team, UK-based and offshore, improving how they plan, collaborate, deliver, and grow. This isn’t an architect or CTO role. The technical authority is already in place. What’s missing is someone who loves building great engineering culture, removing blockers, and helping talented people do their best work.

Requirements

  • Leading and mentoring engineers across distributed teams
  • Driving sprint planning, delivery tracking, and continuous improvement
  • Standardising processes, documentation, and collaboration practices
  • Bridging the gap between engineering, systems, and company leadership
  • Experience scaling small engineering teams in a growing company
  • Experience in robotics, automation, scientific software, or engineering environments
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted software development workflows
