Key responsibilities:

  • CQC Registered Manager for the branch.
  • Ensure the provision of high-quality care services to vulnerable people living in their own home.
  • Manage and deploy teams of Care Workers who provide care and support to vulnerable adults.
  • Ensure consistent application of the company’s policies, procedures, and approved practice and promote the aims of our client.
  • Participate in and contribute to the strategic management of our client.
  • Ensure all statutory obligations are fully met.
  • Meet and exceed all financial/growth targets.

Specific responsibilities:

  • Implement supervision and appraisal policy for all staff.
  • Ensure efficient scheduling enabling Care Staff to spend allocated care time with each service user.
  • Ensure Care Staff follow agreed care and service user plans with reference to visit length, meeting or exceeding the CQC Fundamental Standards.
  • Maintain appropriate records within the Service Users' home.
  • Confirm all visits, including times, by timesheets signed by the service user and Care Worker.
  • Recruit sufficient staff to fulfil the needs of service users.
  • Liaise with office staff to plan marketing activity and make recommendations to the Operations Director.
  • Adhere to the Company recruitment procedure.
  • Ensure all care staff undergo required training to meet the CQC Fundamental Standards and complete the Care Certificate prior to probation signoff.
  • Identify development and training needs for staff.
  • Source and recommend training programmes to meet these needs.
  • Participate in the provision of training.
  • Maintain records relating to recruitment, training, and supervision.
  • Maintain accurate records of sickness, holiday, and other absence for all staff.
  • Ensure all service users undergo suitable initial assessments including care needs assessment and health and safety risk assessments.
  • Maintain records of assessments and carry out actions required to mitigate risk.
  • Be responsible for the Health and Safety of staff and service users by applying company Health and Safety policies and procedures.
  • Consult service users and their informal carers during care planning and throughout service provision.
  • Carry out and record service user reviews in line with CQC Fundamental Standards and Local Authority requirements.
  • Manage complaints, compliments, and comments effectively, including remedial action and record keeping.
  • Maintain confidentiality by all staff.
  • Ensure compliance with the Data Protection Act regarding service user and Care Worker records.
  • Ensure accurate and timely payroll and invoicing.
  • Collect payments due against invoices promptly.
  • Recover monies due from Care Workers in a timely manner.
  • Build and maintain harmonious working relationships with Local Authority representatives.
  • Attend and participate in Local Authority meetings as appropriate.
  • Manage the office budget and operate as a profit centre.
  • Report Key Performance Indicators accurately to the Operations Director.
  • Ensure effective communication within the office, with field staff, users, purchasers, and other stakeholders.
  • Apply Company policies and procedures relating to equal opportunities and anti-discriminatory practice in service management and delivery.
  • Provide on-call and care services as required to ensure safe and efficient business output.
  • Perform other duties as reasonably delegated by the Operations Director.
