Are you a caring, adaptable, and reliable SEN Teaching Assistant looking for flexible work across Skipton and the surrounding areas? Academics are currently recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants to support children with additional needs across our partner mainstream primary schools in Skipton. This rewarding role involves working closely with individual pupils and small groups, helping children with SEN access learning, build confidence, and thrive in the classroom environment.
We are looking for candidates who are confident supporting a range of special educational needs and who can quickly adapt to different school settings.
The RoleAs an SEN Teaching Assistant, you may be required to:
- Support children on a 1:1 basis or within small groups
- Assist pupils with a range of additional needs including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech & language, and learning difficulties
- Work alongside class teachers to support learning and classroom routines
- Encourage positive behaviour and engagement
- Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
- Adapt to different mainstream school environments across Skipton
- Has experience supporting children with SEN within a school or similar setting
- Is calm, patient, and nurturing in their approach
- Can confidently support behaviour management strategies
- Is reliable, honest, and professional
- Is flexible and happy to work in different partner schools
