Salary: Competitive plus a 15% night shift allowance and Veolia benefits

Grade: 4.3

Hours: 42 (avg) 12 hours days & nights, 4 on 4 off rotating shifts.

Location: Veolia Shrewsbury PRF, SY1 3TH

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety policies, procedures, and regulations while reporting safety and performance issues.
• Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules and deliver safety-critical maintenance tasks within specified timeframes.
• Manage maintenance work order processes including raising defects, planning, scheduling, and recording reactive, proactive, and conditional-based maintenance.
• Liaise with internal and external customers, facility managers, operational staff, and contractors to deliver maintenance operations and ensure value for money.
• Oversee contractors during out-of-hours work to ensure compliance with work instructions, safe systems of work, risk assessments, and permit requirements.
• Manage engineering stores by maintaining safety-critical stock, ensuring proper booking procedures, and coordinating with colleagues to minimise outage time.
• Actively participate in safety reporting, continuous improvement initiatives, and maintenance planning meetings to align with customer needs and build TPM structure.
• Ensure environmental compliance by completing maintenance works according to sustainability commitments, preventing releases to air, land, or water, and monitoring critical spares inventory.

Qualifications

• C & G Level 3 qualification as a Time-Served Engineer with practical experience and sound technical knowledge.
• Previous experience in a similar industry or role, demonstrating relevant sector understanding; technical proficiency including knowledge of inverters, PLC literacy, and PC literacy for operational tasks.
• Ability to work effectively in a multi-project environment, managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and processes, with IOSH Managing Safely qualification preferred.
• Knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS) for facility operations and control.
• Specialised safety training including Confined Space, Excavation, and Asbestos awareness certifications.
