Role Summary: Security Officer – safeguarding the Deeside campus of Coleg Cambria.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain a visible, proactive security presence through regular patrols of campus grounds.
- Monitor surveillance systems and control entry and exit points.
- Respond to emergencies (fires, medical incidents) and coordinate emergency evacuations.
- Operate CCTV systems, handle security-related investigations, and ensure compliance with campus policies.
- Provide first aid when necessary and assist in incidents such as misbehaviour, substance use, and unauthorised access.
Qualifications & Essential Requirements:
- SIA Personal Licence.
- First Aid Training.
- Experience working in a security role, preferably within an educational or similar institutional setting.
- Effective problem-solving skills to quickly assess situations and determine the appropriate course of action.

Safety, DBS & Regulation: This role is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order and is classed as regulated activity. It therefore requires an Enhanced DBS with Barred List check, and applicants must disclose all cautions and convictions, including spent ones. Applicants barred from working with children are ineligible.
Salary & Contract: Full-time, permanent. Salary: £26,582 – £27,120.
