Location: Sheffield

Shifts: Mornings and Afternoons

Salary: 40,000 - 45,000

Main Activities/Tasks:

  • Manufacture new tooling when required against issued drawings
  • Repair and service of (high speed) multi stage progression tools for production
  • Preventative maintenance on tooling, all aspects of machining and bench fitting (e.g., grinding, turning, milling)
  • Utilisation of precision/optical measuring equipment to maintain tooling to produce parts to drawing tolerance
  • Trying out tooling prior to release
  • Attending power press to identify or overcome problems while tooling is in running condition, then reporting to superiors to resolve issues or arrange spares/replacements or backup
  • Assess the life of a press tool and order any new parts or make new parts that need replacing
  • Replace pilots, probe pins, springs, and design and make special fixtures to fit to tools
  • Observe Health and Safety Regulation at all times

Person Specification:

You must be self‑motivated and ideally possess the following skills:

  • Manufacture new tooling when required against issued drawings
  • Repair and service tools for production
  • Sustain preventative maintenance on tooling, all aspects of machining and bench fitting
  • Utilise precision/optical measuring equipment to maintain tooling
  • Maintain tooling equipment
