Axon Moore are delighted to be supporting a well-established and growing manufacturing business based in Sheffield in their search for a Qualified Finance Business Partner.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, this is a high-visibility Finance Business Partner position that sits at the heart of the business. You will act as the key financial interface between the finance function and operational teams, translating complex financial data into clear, actionable commercial insight that drives better decision-making across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, analyse and present monthly management accounts and financial performance reports to senior stakeholders, providing clear narrative and variance commentary.
- Act as the primary finance contact for designated operational divisions, building strong working relationships with non-finance managers.
- Lead the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes for your business areas, challenging assumptions and driving accountability.
- Deliver detailed product and margin analysis across the manufacturing portfolio, identifying opportunities to improve profitability and reduce cost.
- Provide commercial support on pricing, capital investment decisions, and new business opportunities through robust financial modelling and scenario analysis.
- Monitor KPIs and operational performance metrics, flagging risks and opportunities to the Head of Finance and relevant stakeholders.
- Support the development and improvement of management reporting, ensuring reporting packs are accurate, insightful and delivered to tight deadlines.
- Drive financial awareness and accountability across operational teams, supporting non-finance managers in understanding and owning their numbers.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the finance function, including systems development and process efficiency projects.
- Support year-end audit preparation and liaise with external auditors as required.
- Assist with ad hoc strategic projects, M&A activity, or business development initiatives as required by the Head of Finance or CFO.
The Person
- Fully qualified accountant - ACA, ACCA or CIMA essential.
- Demonstrable experience in a Finance Business Partner, Management Accountant or similar commercially focused finance role.
- Manufacturing, engineering or industrial sector experience strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and present it clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
