Location: Sheffield

Salary: 49,000 per year + up to 12% bonus

Shifts: Morning (06:00-13:00), Afternoon (13:00-20:00), Night (20:00-06:00) - 1-week rotation

Benefits: 31 days holiday, up to 8% pension, ongoing training & development

We are looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a small, skilled team supporting a rolling mill and downstream equipment. You'll carry out mechanical repairs, preventive maintenance, fault-finding on hydraulic systems, and workshop rebuilds of gearboxes, shears, spindles, and pumps.

Requirements

  • Time‑served apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 equivalent
  • Industrial mechanical maintenance experience
  • Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Able to read engineering drawings and work safely at heights

Responsibilities

  • Overhaul and maintain mechanical equipment
  • Respond to breakdowns to minimise downtime
  • Maintain safety and housekeeping standards
  • Assist in production changeovers and report shift activities
