Senior Structural Engineer
Location: Sevenoaks
Type: Full-Time Permanent
A well-established medium-sized engineering consultancy based in Sevenoaks is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join its growing team. The consultancy works across a broad range of sectors including residential, commercial, education, retail, and industrial developments.
Responsibilities
- Leading the design and delivery of structural projects across multiple sectors
- Producing structural calculations, reports, specifications, and drawings
- Managing project programmes, budgets, and technical delivery
- Coordinating with internal and external design teams
- Mentoring and supporting junior engineers and technicians
- Undertaking site visits, inspections, and client meetings
- Ensuring compliance with UK building regulations and current design standards
- Contributing to business development and maintaining strong client relationships
Requirements
- Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Chartered Engineer status preferred or working towards Chartership (ICE or IStructE)
- Strong experience designing in steel, concrete, timber, and masonry
- Good working knowledge of Eurocodes and UK construction standards
- Experience delivering projects within a consultancy environment
- Proficiency in structural design software such as Tekla, Tedds, MasterSeries, or similar
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively
