We are recruiting Service Desk Engineers to support mission‑critical defence systems used by the UK Ministry of Defence and international customers. This is a fantastic opportunity for candidates with military experience—particularly those from 14 Signal Regiment or relevant Royal Navy backgrounds—to transition into a high‑impact technical role supporting advanced EW technology.

The Role

As a Service Desk Engineer, you will provide Level 1 and Level 2 support for specialist Electronic Warfare systems, taking ownership of incidents from initial diagnosis through to resolution. This is a hands‑on technical position where you will be expected to troubleshoot and resolve issues directly rather than simply escalated tickets. You will work closely with MOD customers, internal engineering teams, and external suppliers to ensure systems remain fully operational.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact for customer technical issues via phone, email, and support portals
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and system‑related faults
  • Deliver L1/L2 support for advanced Electronic Warfare products
  • Manage incidents, service requests, and problem investigations using ITSM tools
  • Monitor system performance and coordinate escalations when required
  • Produce customer updates, service reports, and trend analysis
  • Create and maintain knowledge base documentation
  • Support change, release, and deployment processes
  • Work closely with Engineering, QA, Logistics, Compliance, and MOD stakeholders

What We’re Looking For

Essential Experience

  • Military Electronic Warfare experience within the UK MOD
  • Strong technical troubleshooting and fault‑finding skills
  • Experience providing Level 1 and Level 2 technical support
  • Ability to take ownership of issues and drive them through to resolution
  • Experience supporting complex, high‑value systems in regulated environments
  • Awareness of ITIL v3 or ITIL v4 principles

Highly Desirable

  • Former service in 14 Signal Regiment
  • Relevant Royal Navy EW or communications experience
  • Experience working directly with Ministry of Defence customers
