Conrad Consulting is partnering with a leading multidisciplinary construction and infrastructure consultancy to recruit an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to support the delivery of major infrastructure and energy projects across the Essex and Kent region. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially driven Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a growing infrastructure team delivering high-profile capital investment programmes across utilities, energy, civil engineering and infrastructure upgrade sectors.

The successful candidate will work on nationally significant projects supporting infrastructure resilience, renewable energy integration and long-term economic growth, while collaborating closely with Tier 1 contractors, programme teams and key client stakeholders.

The Role

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in supporting commercial and cost management activities across complex infrastructure and energy projects from early project phases through to delivery. Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting commercial and cost management activities across major infrastructure projects
  • Administering NEC3 / NEC4 contracts, including compensation events, early warnings and change control procedures
  • Preparing cost plans, valuations, forecasts and financial reporting
  • Monitoring project expenditure, cash flow, budgets and commercial risk
  • Supporting procurement activities, tender analysis and contract reviews
  • Liaising with contractors, clients and project teams to ensure commercial compliance and reporting standards are maintained
  • Supporting value engineering and risk management initiatives
  • Mentoring and supporting junior commercial team members where appropriate

Requirements

Essential Experience & Skills

  • Proven Quantity Surveying experience within infrastructure, utilities, energy or major civil engineering environments
  • Strong working knowledge of NEC3 / NEC4 contracts and commercial management processes
  • Experience delivering large-scale infrastructure or capital investment programmes
  • Excellent commercial awareness and analytical capability
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or related discipline

Desirable

  • MRICS qualified or working towards chartership
  • Experience within power, utilities or transmission infrastructure projects
