The Opportunity
We're supporting a major UK engineering programme within a highly regulated, safety-critical environment. This is an opportunity to join a growing multidisciplinary team working on complex systems that require rigorous safety assurance across the full engineering lifecycle.
You'll play a key role in ensuring that product safety is embedded from concept through to delivery, working alongside systems, design, and project teams in a collaborative development environment.
What You'll Be Doing
- Deliver product safety activities across complex engineering systems throughout the lifecycle
- Support hazard identification, analysis, and risk management activities
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of safety requirements and hazard logs
- Produce high-quality safety documentation and technical reports
- Ensure alignment with the organisation's Safety Management System and governance processes
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to integrate safety into design and development
- Support continuous improvement of safety processes and methodologies
- Work flexibly across evolving project requirements in a dynamic programme environment
What We're Looking For
- Experience in Product Safety / Safety Engineering within a regulated industry
- Understanding of systems engineering and engineering lifecycle processes
- Experience with:
- Hazard analysis techniques
- Safety requirements management
- Safety case / assurance documentation
- Strong communication skills with the ability to produce clear technical reports
- Degree qualified in Engineering (or equivalent experience)
- Experience in high-integrity sectors (e.g. defence, aerospace, nuclear, rail) is highly desirable
The Team
You'll join a specialist safety engineering function supporting the delivery of complex, safety-critical systems. The team works closely with broader engineering disciplines to ensure safety is fully integrated into system design and delivery.
