An established, employee-owned Building Services Consultancy is looking to appoint a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join its growing London team. With decades of experience delivering innovative engineering solutions across the built environment, the business has developed a strong reputation for technical excellence, sustainable design, and long-standing client partnerships across London and the South East. The company delivers full MEP building services design alongside specialist low carbon and energy advisory services across a broad range of sectors including commercial, healthcare, education, leisure, residential, and industrial developments.

The Role

You will lead the mechanical design and coordination of a wide range of building services projects from concept through to completion. Working closely with clients, architects, and multidisciplinary teams, you will contribute to the delivery of sustainable and technically robust engineering solutions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading mechanical building services design across multiple sectors
  • Producing and reviewing detailed HVAC and public health designs
  • Managing projects through all RIBA stages
  • Attending client and design team meetings
  • Mentoring and supporting junior engineers and technicians
  • Coordinating with electrical, sustainability, and external consultant teams
  • Carrying out site inspections and technical reviews
  • Supporting low carbon and energy-efficient design strategies

Requirements

  • Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
  • Proven experience within a Building Services consultancy environment
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC and mechanical systems design
  • Experience leading projects and managing client relationships
  • Familiarity with UK Building Regulations and CIBSE guidance
  • Proficiency with industry software such as AutoCAD, Revit, IES, or Hevacomp
  • Chartered status or working towards Chartership would be advantageous
