We are seeking an experienced and driven Senior M&E Project Manager (Mechanical Bias) to lead the MEP delivery of a major commercial construction project from pre-construction through to commissioning and handover. This is a senior leadership role responsible for managing all mechanical and electrical aspects of the project, with a strong focus and technical understanding of mechanical building services. The successful candidate will ensure the project is delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while working closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal delivery teams to achieve successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the M&E package delivery across all project phases
- Take overall responsibility for mechanical services delivery with oversight of electrical works
- Manage and coordinate M&E subcontractors and specialist suppliers
- Oversee programme management and ensure project milestones are achieved
- Monitor project budgets, procurement, variations, and cost control
- Chair and attend coordination, progress, design, and client meetings
- Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and company procedures
- Review and manage technical drawings, specifications, and design changes
- Coordinate commissioning activities, testing, and final handover documentation
- Identify and mitigate project risks while resolving technical and operational issues
- Work closely with design teams to ensure coordinated MEP installations
- Provide leadership, support, and mentoring to project engineers and site teams
- Maintain strong communication with clients, consultants, and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Senior M&E Project Manager or Senior Mechanical Project Manager on large commercial construction projects
- Strong mechanical bias with extensive knowledge of HVAC, pipework, plant rooms, ventilation, and mechanical building services
- Good understanding of electrical building services and MEP coordination
- Experience managing projects from inception through to completion and handover
- Excellent commercial awareness and contract management skills
- Strong leadership, organisational, and stakeholder management abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities within fast-paced construction environments
- Relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or related discipline
- SMSTS, CSCS, and relevant health & safety certifications preferred
