About the Role: Emtech are working with a growing multi-disciplinary Engineering Consultancy who are looking for a skilled and motivated Senior or Principal Flood Modeller to join their growing team. If you're an experienced consultant ready to take the next step, this is an excellent opportunity to advance your career in a dynamic and collaborative environment. As a key member of the Water Environment team, you will apply hydraulic modelling expertise to support nature-based solutions, FCERM scheme design, Flood Risk Assessment, and drainage design. Their current projects range from redeveloping brownfield sites for residential use to helping local authorities implement natural flood management strategies. Demand for a catchment-wide approach to flood risk management is increasing, and they are leading the way in using hydraulic modelling to assess climate change risks and opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver 1D and 2D hydraulic modelling for river and urban flood applications
- Drive technical innovation to enhance efficiency and quality
- Collaborate within multidisciplinary project teams
- Produce, review, and refine technical reports
Desired Experience:
- Proven experience in 1D and/or 2D hydraulic modelling (e.g. Flood Modeller-TUFLOW, Infoworks-ICM)
- Strong understanding of flood risk management techniques and option appraisals
- Knowledge of UK hydrological methodologies and flood risk policy
- Ability to write and review high-quality technical reports
- Experience in collaborative working, with strong communication skills for engaging with clients, stakeholders, and colleagues
- Commercial awareness and a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget
- Project management experience is desirable
