An established engineering and manufacturing business specialising in advanced industrial systems is seeking an experienced Test Engineer to join its growing team. Due to increased workload, long-term project demand, and ongoing product development, this is an excellent opportunity to work on highly technical machinery within a collaborative engineering environment.
The Role
Reporting to the Engineering Director and working closely with existing test engineers, production, and engineering teams, you will be responsible for the testing, fault finding, assembly, and validation of complex machinery and systems. This role would suit a hands-on engineer with strong electrical and electronic diagnostic skills who enjoys problem-solving and working across multidisciplinary systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Testing and commissioning of industrial machinery and systems
- Electrical, electronic, mechanical, and software fault finding
- PCB testing to component level
- Machine wiring and mechanical assembly
- High voltage testing activities
- Supporting customer machine acceptance processes
- Completing quality documentation and machine snag lists
- Developing and following test procedures and work instructions
- Maintaining calibrated equipment
- Supporting new product and machine development
- Liaising with suppliers, customers, and internal departments
- Managing workload effectively both independently and within a team
Skills & Experience Required
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a relevant Test Engineer or similar engineering role
- Qualification in a relevant engineering discipline
- Strong understanding of:
- Electrical systems
- Analogue and digital electronics
- Mechanical systems
- Software-controlled machinery
- High voltage systems
Desirable Experience
- PCB design knowledge
- CRM/ERP systems experience
- Microsoft Office proficiency
- Experience within machinery manufacturing, automation, or special-purpose equipment environments
