Our client is currently seeking an experienced Building Surveyor for Farnham. You will mainly deal with reinstatement cost assessments. The role will be office based 3 days per week.

The Role

  • Team Management and development responsibilities.
  • Conduct thorough on-site inspections of residential, commercial, and mixed-use properties.
  • Evaluate building layout, structures, materials, construction methods, and overall condition.
  • Identify factors that may affect reinstatement costs, including age, specification, and any non-standard features.
  • Calculate accurate reinstatement costs in accordance with RICS guidance, BCIS indices, and relevant industry standards.
  • Apply appropriate cost indices and regional adjustments to ensure up-to-date and compliant valuations.
  • Monitor cost fluctuations and construction market trends to maintain assessment accuracy.
  • Produce clear, detailed, and professionally presented RCA reports within agreed SLA timeframes.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of building regulations, planning requirements, and relevant industry standards.
  • Participate in relevant continuing professional development (CPD) and training as required by the business.

Skills / Qualifications

  • Relevant technical / Loss Adjusting experience is desired.
  • Degree in Building Surveying (BSC Hons).
  • You will be MRICS qualified.
  • Conversant with CAD, CDM Regs 2015, Party Wall Act 1996, Building Regulation and Planning Legislation.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent customer service, organizational & communication skills.
