We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school team in Blackpool from 1st June 2026. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), supporting their academic, social, and emotional development within a nurturing learning environment.
The Role
- As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and the SENCO to provide tailored support for pupils with additional needs.
- You may support students on a one-to-one basis or within small groups, helping to create a positive and inclusive classroom experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group support to pupils with SEN
- Assist the class teacher with lesson preparation and classroom activities
- Support pupils with communication, behaviour, and emotional regulation
- Encourage independence, confidence, and engagement in learning
- Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
- Help maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN
- A patient, caring, and adaptable approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
- Relevant qualifications or training in education or SEN support (desirable)
- An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
