We are currently recruiting for a hands-on Site Officer to join a busy and supportive school trust. This is an immediate start, ongoing temporary position – perfect for someone reliable, practical, and proud of keeping environments safe, clean, and running smoothly.

The Role

  • General maintenance, caretaking and reactive repairs
  • Opening/closing sites and managing site security & alarms
  • Basic plumbing, carpentry, painting & decorating tasks
  • Grounds maintenance (grass cutting, hedge trimming, clearing pathways)
  • Supporting deliveries and moving furniture
  • Responding to urgent issues and occasional out-of-hours emergencies
  • Travelling between sites to support where needed

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience in a caretaker / maintenance / handyman role
  • Practical skills across basic trades (plumbing, carpentry, decorating)
  • Good understanding of health & safety procedures
  • Able to work independently and prioritise workload
  • Strong communication and reliability
  • Full UK driving licence & access to a vehicle – essential
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one) – essential

Bonus Experience (Desirable)

  • Experience working within a school or education setting
  • Formal trade qualifications (plumbing, electrical, carpentry)
