About the Role
We are recruiting for a Sales / Supply Service Representative to join a fast-paced, customer-focused team within a global speciality chemicals and ingredients distribution business. This role acts as a key point of contact for customers and suppliers, ensuring smooth order processing, excellent communication, and strong relationship management across all stages of the supply chain. You will play a vital role in delivering operational excellence and outstanding service, supporting either the sales side or purchasing side of the business (or a combination depending on team needs).
Key Responsibilities
- Sales Side
- Act as the first point of contact for customer orders via email and phone
- Enter and manage orders using internal ERP systems
- Handle customer queries including pricing, availability, and delivery updates
- Resolve issues such as delays, damages, or complaints professionally
- Maintain strong relationships with customers and internal teams
- Keep systems and colleagues updated with accurate information
- Support wider team activities and ad hoc tasks as required
- Purchasing Side
- Raise and manage purchase orders through ERP systems
- Monitor stock levels and ensure supply meets demand requirements
- Communicate with suppliers regarding orders, pricing, and delivery issues
- Work with third-party warehouses and logistics partners to resolve issues
- Record and track supply chain issues for continuous improvement
- Maintain strong supplier relationships and ensure smooth operations
- Support wider team activities and ad hoc tasks as required
About You
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Confident working in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment
- Highly organised with the ability to multitask under pressure
- Solution-focused with a proactive, can-do attitude
- Comfortable working with numbers, data, and spreadsheets
- Strong IT skills (Microsoft Word and Excel essential)
- Team player who supports colleagues and works collaboratively
- Previous administration or customer service experience is beneficial
- GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English grade C/4 or above
