My client is seeking an experienced and proactive Architectural Technician to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to be fully involved in projects from initial design through to on-site delivery, playing a key role at every stage.
About the Role
You will work closely with senior team members and contribute to the development and delivery of a wide range of residential projects. The role offers the opportunity to be involved throughout the full project lifecycle from early design development and planning, through technical detailing and Building Regulations, to supporting projects during the construction phase on site.
Our work includes a variety of residential schemes, such as:
- Extensions to existing homes
- Loft conversions
- Barn conversions
- New build residential properties
This is a hands‑on role where you will gain exposure to all stages of a project, ensuring continuity, quality, and compliance from concept to completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting in the development of design proposals and preparing drawings for planning applications
- Producing detailed technical drawings and comprehensive Building Regulations packages using AutoCAD
- Ensuring designs comply with current UK Building Regulations and relevant standards
- Coordinating information with senior staff, consultants, and external stakeholders
- Supporting projects through approval stages, including planning and Building Regulations
- Contributing to construction information and technical detailing
- Liaising with contractors and responding to queries during the construction phase
- Carrying out or supporting site visits to monitor progress and ensure works align with design intent
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience as an Architectural Technician within a UK practice
- Strong knowledge of current UK Building Regulations and construction detailing
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Ability to produce clear, accurate, and detailed technical drawings
- Good understanding of the full project lifecycle, including on‑site processes
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- A proactive, collaborative, and problem‑solving approach
