ASL Technical are recruiting on behalf of a manufacturing and engineering client for an experienced Production Operator to support an ongoing workload on a 3-month contract, very likely to run throughout 2026. The role involves producing high-quality cable assemblies that meet or exceed IPC-620 Class 2 standards and customer requirements, following detailed work instructions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build cable assemblies to IPC-620 Class 2 standards
  • Cable cutting and wire preparation
  • Hand and automated crimping
  • Hand soldering and tinning bath soldering
  • Connector assembly, labelling, heat shrink, lacing/binding, and potting
  • Self-inspection prior to QA
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Support continuous improvement
  • Report process, quality, or material issues

Skills & Experience

  • Soldering, crimping and cable assembly or repair experience
  • PCB soldering repair or crimping experience, with training and development possible
  • Previous experience in cable or electromechanical assembly preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of IPC-620 Class 2 advantageous, but not necessary
  • High attention to detail and quality
  • Ability to follow technical documentation
  • Reliable, proactive, and team-focused

Duration: 12 weeks, possible extension
