A globally recognised high volume manufacturer are currently looking to strengthen their commercial department with the appointment of a Key Account Manager. Responsible for managing key accounts, developing relationships with and maximising sales opportunities within them. Additionally, to find and develop new key accounts.
Develop, implement and execute Key Account annual and 3-5 year sales strategy and growth plans. Develop key account plans, including competitor profiles. Customer liaison and reporting the voice of the client (project technical issues and potential resolutions/opportunity). Develop and plan the sales pipeline for customers, converting opportunities in line with sales plans.
Day to day quotes and business acquisition, annual pricing negotiations, driving opportunities to meet customer requirements. Play an integral role in the smooth management of commercial projects, working with internal colleagues (design, purchasing, manufacturing, technical) and key contacts within our designated key account (purchasing, design, engineering etc.).
Work with design teams and manufacturing to ensure project(s) run smoothly and to plan. Management of change within the scope of the project(s) to include potential cost changes (design change, raw material cost etc.) and managing these changes to a win/win outcome. Identify ways to maximise profitability. Gather market and customer information and provide feedback on buying trends. Identify new markets and business opportunities.
In line with company strategy research and generate own leads and propose potential Key Accounts. Establish connects to new customers and nurture and develop them.
The successful candidate is likely to be qualified to degree level or equivalent experience in sales or engineering in similar industries. Experience in Automotive would be an advantage.
