We are currently recruiting for a motivated Primary Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and inclusive primary school in Medway. This is a full-time position with an immediate start. As a Primary Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting both teachers and pupils, helping to create a positive, engaging, and safe learning environment where every child can thrive.
Situated in Medway, this primary school has a strong reputation for its inclusive ethos and dedication to delivering high-quality education. As a Primary Teaching Assistant, you will become part of a collaborative team that values respect, teamwork, and the wellbeing of every child. In this role, you will make a meaningful difference by supporting children’s academic progress and emotional development.
Responsibilities:
- Supporting the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons across the primary curriculum
- Working with pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups to support learning in literacy, numeracy, and social development
- Observing and tracking student progress, providing feedback to the teaching team
- Upholding professional standards and adhering to safeguarding and child protection policies
Qualifications:
- Have previous experience working as a Primary Teaching Assistant or in a similar role supporting young people
- Show a genuine passion for helping children succeed academically and personally
- Possess strong communication skills and a dependable, professional approach
- Have the right to work in the UK
- Meet GSL’s safer recruitment requirements
- Hold an Enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one
